At the Brewery Project at the Armory

There’s a large, eclectic group show at the Armory worth checking out called “at the Brewery Project, 1992-2007: the Finale.”
It is more interesting as a record of an artist-run, non-profit space rather than for the hit-and-miss work in the show–especially as the downturn of the art market will spark interest in DIYs like this one. The show gives a glimpse into the 15-year history of John O’Brien’s Brewery Project by presenting 10 mini-versions of some of the shows that graced the walls of the downtown space during its run.
See what Doug Harvey has to say about it in the LA Weekly.
There’s a very nice catalog to accompany the exhibition, and an evening of video & performance is coming up on Saturday, January 31st at 8 p.m. The show runs through March 1.
