Twitter Review:
David Allan Peters @ Ruth Bachofner (***) Maximal layering. Prefer wht/blk/metallic monochromes w/ 1 or 2 carvings better than overall cut pieces.

Love the layers of color…I’ve been following DAP’S art for the last 10 years, really interesting to see where he’s headed with his new bigger pieces…again love the layers of colors and how they pop

The degree of precision demanded to create these perfect cutouts is wild – DAP is certainly a master of the blade. There is an austere elegance in the contrast of those pristine surfaces with his strategic cuts revealing countless layers of beautiful color. The more highly worked paintings throw the viewer a double punch: the psychological, with the eye and brain overloaded trying to take in simultaneously all the colors and intricate surface area, and the emotional: sheer amazement while recognizing the artist’s boundless patience and immense artistic technique. DAP’s talent and distinctive style are certainly required to bring these intelligent and abstract works to this level of finish and finality.
