Hammer Bash with Llyn Foulkes & Norton Wisdom performance @ Hammer Museum

Don’t miss your last chance to see Nine Lives: Visionary Artists from L.A., and definitely don’t miss the concert by the legendary Lynn Foulkes on his one-man band called the Machine.  Created by Foulkes, the Machine is comprised of dozens of found and invented instruments such as car horns, organ pipes, drums, xylophone and bass. Foulkes will be accompanied by performance painter Norton Wisdom who creates magnificent visual interpretations of live music using brushes, sticks, his fingers and a squeegee upon translucent fiberglass.  Parking is available under the museum for $3 after 6pm.

Engagement Party: Knifeandfork Presents MOCA Grand Prix @ MOCA Grand

“For their final Engagement Party event, Knifeandfork invites participants to race remote-control cars through MOCA’s current exhibition, A Changing Ratio: Painting and Sculpture from the Collection. Using mounted cameras, each Wi-Fi-enabled car is driven remotely through a video game interface that shows the car’s point of view. Through the lens of 1980s American gaming culture, this project offers an alternative perspective on the permanent collection exhibition. Awards will be presented for the fastest times of the evening. Cash bar. INFO: moca.org/party or 213/621-1745. FREE; no reservations required.”
